What’s that over there? Why that’s a brand new bread machine!

I’m pretty sure that it’s not a certified addiction but some might say that I’m a little obsessed with trawling second hand stores, car boot sales and vintage shops. Even if I don’t have a specific item in mind I will still have a good old rummage to find that little gem. I think it’s probably a trait that has been passed down from mother to daughter.

Sometimes I will find a little treat – some proper thick cotton sheets or a silk jacket – and if I’m lucky I’ll stumble across a haul that makes those hours or raking worthwhile. Recently my best booty was an unused bread maker panasonic brand – still in box, complete with the warrantee and in perfect working order – I suspect it was an unwanted present or maybe the recipient won it?!

Once I got it home and tried it out I was amazed by just how easy it was to produce loafs in no time at all. It took a while but as long as you follow the instructions closely in the panasonic bread maker manual then you’ll be fine. Before long I was experimenting with adding little extras such as dried fruit and chocolate and producing gorgeously tasty bakery treats.

So next time you scoff at something nearly new, remember that there are some little gems hiding that are brand new and ready for a new home.
